Carlene Walter

DSC00430_2.jpgCarlene Walter is a learning support facilitator with the Prairie Spirit School Division in Saskatchewan. Previously, she was a teacher-librarian for more than ten years. She obtained her Masters of Education with a specialization in Educational Technology. In 2008, Carlene was awarded the Saskatchewan School Library Association's John G. Wright Award for in recognition of her contributions to school library service. She is passionate about creating opportunities for teacher-librarians to fulfil their role as informational specialists, instructional partners, and literacy leaders.

Carlene, along with Donna DesRoches, collectively known as the Disruptive Innovators, were the 2008 recipients of the Canadian Library Association; Angela Thacker Memorial Award for their contributions to the field of teacher-librarianship.Together, they continue to provide support to teacher-librarians as Executive Members of the Saskatchewan School Library Association.

Donna and Carlene are the facilitators of Meet The Stars, a professional development opportunity for teacher-librarians set against the vicarious star-studded glamour of the Hollywood era.They look forward to unveiling their latest learning opportunity entitled Beyond The Stacks: Renewing Your Love Affair With The Library.
